A pH 2.0-3.0 gel texture peel where the main ingredient is lactic acid; naturally found in the skin as part of a metabolic process to maintain the pH of the acid mantle between 5.5 and 6.0. It exerts a natural moisturising effect on the skin by attracting water molecules to the stratum corneum and stimulating the synthesis of ceramides, improving and modulating the barrier function.
Known as a skin-lightening agent, as it induces homogeneous melanin dispersion. Furthermore, it has antioxidant effects and inhibits the action of tyrosinase, an enzyme that participates in the first stages of melanogenesis. This gel formulation allows the acid to penetrate slowly into the skin without causing irritation.
